The Inter-American Institute for Advanced Studies in Cultural History has created a growing collection of catalogued digital images now numbering over 70,000. Areas of concentration are Pre-Columbian and Colonial Latin America; Roman Imperial art and architecture in Europe, Africa and Asia; Islamic art and architecture in Europe, Africa and Asia; Ottoman art and architecture in Turkey and the Near East; Romanesque and Gothic art and architecture in Spain and France; and Colonial and early Federal architecture of Virginia. Other areas of interest include Shaker architecture in New England and Kentucky, Early Christian Architecture of Armenia, Synagogues of Eastern Europe, 19th and 20th century architecture and urbanism in the United States.
